Magnetic Orbital Quantum Actualisation Dynamics

How can DayDisc 'just work'? Inspired by the Appropriate Technology Movement, we designed the Discology system to be as simple and as effective as possible. So it functions using only permanent magnets and Willpower. To combine these two forces of nature into a purposeful device, we developed a system that integrates our understanding of the magic and mystery of science, including modern psychology and cybernetics, with our intuitions about sacred geometry and ancient wisdom.

revolves around a toroidal magnetic field quantized into twelve sub-fields. The tracking orbs progress around the torus is discrete steps, marked by the ascending dial. The tactile and auditory feedback at each step dynamically entrains repetition, and the satisfaction of completing a daily orbit encourages consistency. New patterns of activity emerge rapidly, as you train your own neuro-behavioural plasticity, and your daily actualisation practice becomes a long-term uplift of your overall wellbeing.

Magnetism: Force of Nature

Magnetism is one the two forces that make DayDisc work.

The twelve sub-fields match the twelve petals of the heart chakra, over which it sits, embedded in your biofield.

The motion of the tracking orb along with the associated action induces a vital vortex aligned with your direction in life.

The Orbital Circuit

As above, so below.

The repeating, cyclical nature of orbits makes them ideal for marking time, and for developing regular habits.

Just as you gain experience as you  orbit around the sun, so you gain when you 'orbit' your DayDisc every day.

The tracking orbs make the circuit of DayDisc in 12 steps.

Completing the full circuit in a day, that's your  orbit.

The Quantum of Action

two_slits-b.jpg

In physics, a quantum is a unit, or 'chunk' of energy.

Behavioural psychologists also call breaking great challenges into manageable tasks "chunking".

This is what DayDisc encourages you to do: decide on a 'chunk' of activity that will contribute to your progress if you repeat it enough, then use DayDisc to build the discipline that leads to gains from repetition.

Develop a personal routine based on your own goals and aspirations.

What counts? What will your 'quantum of action' be?

You decide, by choosing what matters to you, and how you invest your energies.

Actualise your Self

In Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Self-Actualisation is the highest level of psychological development, where personal potential is fully realized after basic bodily and ego needs have been fulfilled.

In his own words: “This tendency might be phrased as the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything that one is capable of becoming.”

Dynamic Equilibrium

In the words of Heraclitus, we are "always becoming".

So how can we change and stay true to ourselves?

By being the instigators and leaders of the change wish for: we decide on the direction we wish to evolve in, and set the goals and waypoints that will mark our progress.

Intentional change involves envisioning the ideal self and  developing a personalised agenda to achieve it.

DayDisc is designed to drive this dynamic.
